Venetian Plaster
If you want to get the look of marble but can’t use actual marble because of budget or design constraints, Venetian plaster is a fantastic substitute. Because of its natural characteristics and the way that it’s applied (in thin, translucent layers that are often burnished), it provides a soft, earthy appearance with an iridescent finish—just like marble or stone.
Suede Walls
Using a suede finish when painting a wall can bring a soft, silky smooth look to the interior of a home. Suede painted walls give a house an elegant and sophisticated look that is simultaneously relaxed and easy on the eyes. This is one of many faux finishes that we offer.
Metallic Walls
A metallic faux finish can give a room the look of brushed metal, creating the rustic look of hand-formed metal or an ultramodern appearance, depending on your furniture and appliances. Enhance the metallic look by adding stripes.
Color Washing
Color washing your walls gives them a warm, textured look. The slightly distressed faux finish creates an Old World atmosphere and mimics the rustic aesthetic of a Provencal or Tuscan farmhouse. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, you can use colors that are only shades apart to create a subtle depth or hues that are slightly more different to create a rich complexity.
Marbleizing
Marbleizing is the preparation and finishing of a surface to imitate the appearance of polished marble. It is typically used in buildings where the cost or weight of genuine marble would be prohibitive. Faux marbling is a special case of faux painting used to create the distinctive and varied patterns of marble - the most imitated stone by far.
Stripes
Stripes are a great decorative technique for your walls. Horizontal stripes make a room appear more spacious; vertical stripes make the ceiling appear higher. Stripes can be used on accent walls for a more subtle look.
